Col Anand Swaroop, a veteran from The Corps of Engineers, Indian Army is a retired engineer officer from Indian Army. In his 32 years of service, he was twice awarded the Gallantry Award of Sena Medal twice. Anand is a mechanical engineer, and a MBA graduate.

Anand has participated in, planned and led about 25 expeditions all over the world. Most memorable ones include climbs on Everest, Annapurna-1, Cho Oyu, Nanda Devi and many more. He has led the first ever Indian expedition to ski to both North and South Poles.

Anand has also indulged in aero sports like Sky diving, Para-trooping, Hang Gliding, Para Gliding, Micro light flying, and Gliding. In the domain of acqa world, Anand is a dive master, blue water sailor, and a novice in wind surfing.

Anand has been bestowed with ‘Tenzing Norgay National Adventure Award’ which is an equivalent of Arjuna Award. Army has also recognised his efforts by bestowing him with ‘Sena Medal’ on two occasions and Commendations Cards on three occasions. Anand is happily unmarried and continues to devote his time and resources in pursuit of his dreams.

Anand managed to fit into his overcrowded adventure schedule for Atulya Ganga Cyclothon and cycled for 360 kms from Gangotri to Rishikesh.
