Uttarkashi to Prayagraj Maha Kumbh Cyclothon 21 January – 31 January 2025

Keeping up with the tradition of visiting the shores of Ganga, which we started with the historic 5,530 km Ganga parikrama on foot in 2020- 2021, when we walked for 190 days continuously, we cycled 1,100 km from Uttarkashi to Parayagraj to attend the Mahakumbh. We visit the span of Ganga annually with three aims, viz., to conduct awareness campaigns to induce Jan Bhagedari of local residents in the efforts for rejuvenation of Maa Ganga, carry out plantation drives leaving the local youth as guardians of the planted saplings, and too conduct the annual pollution mapping drive to monitor the changes in the water purity index of Ganga. Another reason for visiting the shores of Ganga is our on-going efforts to pioneer heritage tourism along the Mokshdayani Ganga. As always, we received massive response all along the 1,100 kms of cyclothon as may be seen from visuals placed below. Another feat was the display of Atulya Ganga’s five years journey and the milestones crossed at a stall earmarked for us at Zone 1 of Mahakumbh
